Struck by The Royal Mint in 999.9 fine gold, this £100 legal-tender coin contains a full 1 troy ounce (31.103g) of pure gold.
The reverse features the magnificent White Horse of Hanover, representing Queen Elizabeth II’s Hanoverian ancestry. The horse holds a detailed heraldic shield incorporating the three lions of England, lion of Scotland, fleur-de-lis of France, Irish harp and the Arms of Hanover.
The White Horse was brought into the British royal heraldry following Georg Ludwig of Hanover’s accession to the British throne as George I in 1714. The horse is depicted facing right, distinguishing it from the mythical unicorn.
Designed by renowned Royal Mint designer Jody Clark, the coin features the distinctive and highly detailed chainmail background synonymous with The Queen’s Beasts collection.
