1953 Elizabeth II Coronation Paul Vincze Gold Medal Number 10 NGC Graded MS 64
Commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II with this remarkable 1953 Paul Vincze gold medal, number 10 of just 25 pieces struck. Issued privately to commemorate the crowning of Britain’s new monarch at Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953, this elegant medal fills the gap left by the absence of an official Royal Mint issue. Crafted by the renowned sculptor Paul Vincze (1907–1994), it is widely regarded as one of the finest unofficial coronation designs. The obverse features a dignified right-facing portrait of the young Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, while the reverse shows an allegorical figure kneeling to water national flowers, symbolising renewal and unity. Struck in hallmarked 18-carat gold, this scarce medal has been independently certified MS 64 by NGC.
